Cincinnati Tight End Rejoins the Roster
The Cincinnati Bengals are in for a real shake up this offseason. They have managed to retain a few of their players who entered free agency, but not many others. In this year's free agency class for Cincinnati, tight end Mike Gesicki has reentered the free agency bubble after playing for a season with them. For the 2025 NFL season, he will rejoin the Bengals on a three-year deal.
Previously, Gesicki had spent five seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2018 to 2022. The 29 year old was drafted by the Miami Dolphins right out of Penn State University back in the 2018 NFL Draft. Gesicki was the 42 overall pick in the second round of that year. He signed a four year deal with Miami. Once that was up in 2022, he was franchise tagged by Miami for another season. Following that season Gesicki was released into free agency, in 2023 he signed a contract with the New England Patriots to play for them for one year. Then he landed a $2.5 million dollar contract the following year for the 2024 season with Cincinnati. Now Gesicki is rejoining the Bengals.
He has played in the NFL for the past seven seasons and will now be playing for eight. His career stats are pretty high for everything he has done so far. This tight end has played in 111 games in total, starting in a total of 44 of those games. Gesicki has recieved 302 times for 3,321 yards, and made a total of 22 touchdowns during his career.
The contract that Gesicki has signed with the Bengals is worth 25.5 million. This includes a 12 million a year during his first year. The Bengals will be lucky to have him on their roster. They know what they are getting considering he has already played for three different teams so far. He has proven himself that he can be the push that certain NFL teams need. He should be able to learn their schemes with no problems and play well like he always has.
