Could Finn Bálor’s Push Finally Start?

WWE

On this week's episode of Monday Night Raw, Finn Bálor is set to face his longtime rival Seth Rollins in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying match. The winner of this match will become the final participant in the Chamber that already includes the likes of John Cena, Damian Priest, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, and Logan Paul, and the winner of the Chamber will face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania. With so much talent in the mix, a victory for Bálor could be a major turning point in his career. This match not only has high stakes but also offers Bálor a chance to prove himself as a top contender once again.

In late 2024, Bálor was recognized as a locker room leader, signaling a shift in his status within WWE. Reports suggested that he would receive a substantial push this year, and this match against Rollins could be the first step in that direction. Fans know exactly what Bálor can offer as a solo competitor. When he returned to the Black and Gold edition of NXT in 2019, he became an NXT Champion for the second time, has had numerous Match of the Year contenders, and was arguably the coolest wrestler in 2020-21. His shine dwindled when he returned to the main roster.

Both Rollins and Bálor were the first superstars to challenge for the Universal Championship in 2016, where Bálor emerged victorious, and they have faced each other numerous times since then. Their rivalry was reignited in 2023 when they fought for the newly established World Heavyweight Championship, which Rollins held at the time. If Bálor can overcome Rollins, it would not only boost his momentum but also solidify his place as a top contender once again in WWE. This match is not just about the win; it’s about proving that The Prince is ready to reclaim his position at the top of the roster.

Bálor could win this match in so many ways. His Judgement Day teammates could interfere in the match, even if he may not want their help. He can maybe win on his own like he did almost a decade ago. Maybe Seth Rollins’ obsession with CM Punk could cost him the match, leaving Bálor to take advantage. Bálor most likely will not be part of Judgement Day by the end of the year, and this match should have some stories to tell. If Bálor does head to Toronto, we could see him face off against old rival and former Judgement Day brother, Damian Priest. He could wrestle CM Punk and Logan Paul for the very first time. He just has a visionary in his way.
