Dallas Cowboys vs. Carolina Panthers Week 15 Preview
Heading into Week 15, the 3-10 Carolina Panthers will be hosting the 5-8 Dallas Cowboys. In 2024, the Cowboys are 4-2 on the road and the Panthers are 2-5 on their home field. The matchup is set for Sunday, December 15th at 1 p.m. EST on FOX. The Cowboys are currently three-point underdogs and the total is set at 43.5 points per ESPNBET.
The Carolina Panthers have not been favored in a regular season NFL football game for 725 days. That is nearly two years but this Sunday it seems as though that streak is coming to an end. As of Thursday, December 12th, 2024, ESPNBET currently has the Panthers as three-point favorites over the Dallas Cowboys. Despite three straight losses, Panthers second-year quarterback Bryce Young has appeared to find some footing since being benched and then renamed the starter in Week Eight. This, along with Cowboys injuries, can probably attest to the Panthers being the betting favorites in Week 15.
Cooper Rush and the heavily battered 2024 Dallas Cowboys have shown some promise at times, promise that has often been combated with costly mistakes. Rush only completed 51.6 percent of his passes last week against a less-than-mediocre Bengals defense. He has a chance to improve upon that mark this upcoming week as the Panthers have allowed 384.4 yards per game which ranks thirty-first out of thirty-two. Nearly half of those yards came on the ground which will give Cowboys’ back Rico Dowdle a chance to continue to show off. This will be their first game of the year without defensive breakout star DeMarvion Overshown so it is hard to know exactly what to expect from the defense. The Panthers offense has struggled all year but if Overshown is out and Trevon Diggs is questionable, it may just give the edge to Carolina.
This is a pretty tough game to judge. With both Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parsons healthy and on the field, it is impossible to ever count out the Dallas Cowboys but according to most sportsbooks, Carolina is the team expected to win. Both teams have had years to forget and this Sunday a movable object will be meeting a stoppable force, so something has got to give. Please gamble responsibly.
