From Rams to Big Blue: Could Cooper Kupp Spark a Giants Offensive Revolution?

NFL

Free agency has been going on since Monday. As of today, many NFL players can go in and sign their new contracts with the teams they have been picked up by in free agency. During this time of free agency, teams will also notify other players that they are going to be released. As of today, one of those high-profile names has been released from their current contract and team. Cooper Kupp has been let go by the Los Angeles Rams. They could find him a trade to hand the veteran wide receiver off to. He is now in the free agency bubble and will be able to be picked up by any team in the NFL.

Since being drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Kupp has played with the Rams for the first eight years of his career. In his illustrious career, Kupp has tallied 634 receptions for 7,776 yards, and scored over 57 touchdowns over his last several years with Los Angeles. The 31-year-old has been named as the Offensive Player of the Year back in 2021. He also won Super Bowl LVI MVP that same year when the Rams beat the Bengals.

That said, the Giants have plenty of openings to take on whatever players that they want. Kupp now being a free agent may be someone to turn to and add to the roster for this upcoming season. He would be perfect to partner with Malik Nabers on the field. In his rookie season, Nabers broke records. He recorded 109 catches for 1,204 yards and scored seven touchdowns in total this past year. If the Giants were to pair Nabers and Kupp up on the field, there would be no issues with the offense. They would be able to have plenty of touchdowns. The only area they would struggle in at that point, is finding the passer to get them the ball. They would just need consistency.

Kupp has always been one of the greats on any offense. He knows what he is doing and he was the guy that had the most touchdowns every season while he played for the Rams. He would be perfect for the Giants to pick up. The problem is the Giants just need to start making bigger and better moves to bring him to the Meadowlands.
