Jameson Williams Back in Action for Primetime

NFL

If a player can not thrive off the field, then a player can not thrive on the field. Jameson Williams has found that out the hard way. Jameson Williams is one of the best deep threats the Detroit Lions have ever seen. Anytime the Lions need a deep pass, Jared Goff knows that he can find him. Williams’ year started well, but he has faced problems. For the last two games, Williams has been suspended for violating the league performance enhancement substance policy. This is not the first incident that Williams has been involved in. On October 8th, Williams was almost arrested after being pulled over and not having a concealed pistol license for his gun. Williams could still be suspended later on in this season for this incident as it is still under investigation. The Lions have been 2-0 without him. Putting him back in the lineup will make the Lions even more dominant than they have been.

Moving Forward

When Williams talked to the media, he explained that he had to be smarter. He was also grateful for Lions head coach Dan Campbell’s support. Williams said that he could see that Campbell had faith in him. Williams also said that he had unknowingly violated the policy. Williams will have to make sure that he takes his own advice to be smarter.

If a player can not thrive off the field, then a player can not thrive on the field. Jameson Williams has found that out the hard way. Williams is one of the best deep threats the Lions have ever seen. However, it is clear that he needs to put himself in better situations. If Williams can truly take his advice and be smarter, then the Lions will be more dominant. If Williams keeps getting in trouble off the field, then he will not be getting opportunities on the field.
