Lions Dominant Run: Top Achievements That Defined Their Season
To many Lions fans, this season has seemed to be a letdown. The Lions did not meet the expectations of winning the Super Bowl. They had lots of pressure on them throughout the course of the season. The Lions allowed the pressure to hurt them when they needed to perform most. However, the Lions have a lot to be proud of. In some ways, this season has been historic. The Lions should remain dominant going into next season.
Achievements
The Lions won the NFC North for the second consecutive time this season. It was extremely special this year because the NFC North was the most competitive division in football. The Lions barely won the division with a 15-2 record, with the Vikings trailing them at 14-3. With a record of 15-2, the Lions had their best regular season in history. For the first time in history, they clinched the one seed in the playoffs, meaning they were supposedly the best NFC team in the NFL. It was not easy to obtain this success. Many defensive weapons were absent. Aidan Hutchinson and Alex Anzalone were two huge pieces of the defense that were out for a huge part of the season. Aidan Hutchinson was leading the league in sacks when he got injured with seven and a half sacks. The Lions battled through their injuries to finish the regular season strong.
The Lions did not meet expectations this season. They lost in the Divisional Round of the playoffs to the Commanders. To many, this was not good enough. However, this season was something to be proud of. It was a season of fighting through adversity. The Lions fought as hard as they could. They should have confidence going into next season.
