Should the Lions Target the Browns Premier Pass Rusher This Offseason?
Recently, Myles Garrett took to social media to thank the Cleveland Browns organization for the way he was treated while there. However, he also explained that he wanted to be on a more competitive football team. In recent times, the Cleveland Browns have been anything but competitive. The Lions, on the other hand, have been Super Bowl contenders for the last two years. He would be a great fit for Detroit if the Lions decided to trade for him.
Why Myles Garrett Would Help
Myles Garrett is a valuable asset to have on the defensive side of the ball. In 2023, he won Defensive Player of the Year and has had six Pro Bowl appearances. Myles Garrett got 14 sacks this season, which was the second most in the NFL. Aidan Hutchinson should be back this season; he is one of the best pass rushers the Lions have. Hutchinson finished this season with seven and a half sacks. With these two on the Lions defensive line, the Lions pass rush would be unstoppable.
The Lions are exactly what Myles Garrett is looking for. Aidan Hutchinson and Myles Garrett together would truly be unstoppable. No opposing quarterback would ever have time to throw the ball. This trade could actually happen. However, even if it does not, the Lions still have a lot to look forward to next season. With or without Garrett, they will still be Super Bowl contenders.
