Three Offensive Free Agents the Raiders Should Target

NFL

NFL Free Agency is a few weeks away, and the Las Vegas Raiders have $92 million in cap space to improve their roster. After a disappointing 4-13 season, the Raiders have a new general manager in John Spytek and a new coach in Pete Carroll. If the Raiders want to turn it around quickly, they must improve their roster quickly. Here are three players that could help the Raiders get back to winning in the future.

Tee Higgins, Receiver

The Raiders need another receiver to go with Jakobi Meyers and tight end Brock Bowers because their current receiving corps lacks depth and a consistent playmaker. Tee Higgins would be a nice addition, giving the Raiders another weapon at receiver. This past season, Higgins caught 73 passes for 911 yards and ten touchdowns in 12 games. Adding Higgins would give the Raiders a dynamic playmaker in the passing game.

Sam Darnold, Quarterback

Everybody knows the Raiders need a quarterback, whether they draft one or sign one in free agency. The team's current quarterback situation is uncertain, with no clear starter for the upcoming season. Sam Darnold is coming off a career year in which he threw for 4,319 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. He also helped lead the Vikings to a 14-win season. Darnold's last two games could give teams second thoughts on bringing Darnold because he struggled against the depleted Detroit Lions defense in the final game of the regular season and did not fare well in the Vikings' playoff loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Darnold is still young at 27 and could be a decent fit for the Raiders.

Trey Smith, Offensive Guard

Trey Smith, the top offensive lineman in the free agent market, could be a significant boost to the Raiders' offensive line. His exceptional skills in both running and pass blocking make him a perfect fit for the team. His potential fit with DJ Glaze, Jackson Powers-Johnson, and the veteran Kolton Miller could solidify the Raiders' offensive line. Also, his addition could weaken the Raiders' division rival, the Kansas City Chiefs. With the Raiders' struggles in running the ball last season, Smith's arrival could be a sign of improvement in their rushing attack.

LaMarr Fields

LaMarr Fields is a big-time sports fan. I love basketball, baseball, football (college and pro). He has been writing for a few years and covers high school sports for a local newspaper.
