Three-Time Pro Bowler Re-Signs with Commanders

NFL

Zach Ertz, a Super Bowl champion and three-time Pro Bowler, has been a consistent playmaker throughout his career and is now preparing for the next chapter. The second-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, built his reputation as a smart, versatile athlete during his college days at Stanford. Over the years, his ability to consistently deliver on complex plays and his leadership both on and off the field have made him an invaluable asset for any team.  It has been reported that Ertz and the Commanders have agreed to a one-year deal worth $6.25 million and up to nine million in incentives. Ertz is expected to bring back his trademark blend of experience and athleticism to the offense, providing the team with much-needed stability and a proven playmaking threat.

Known for his precise route running and exceptional hands, Ertz has excelled as both a traditional blocking tight end and a dynamic receiving threat. With the Eagles, he developed his skills into a multifaceted role, earning a reputation as a smart, talented, and respected athlete. In 2018, after a standout season that included several key playoff receptions, Zach Ertz solidified his place as one of the league’s elite tight ends. During the regular season, he set an NFL record for most receptions by a tight end in a single season with 116 catches, amassing 1,163 yards and eight touchdowns. His reliability and ability to make clutch plays were instrumental in the Eagles' late-season playoff push.

This season with the Commanders, Ertz adjusted well into a new offensive system. Working alongside Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels, He played a key role in the Commanders' offense, contributing to their run to the NFC Championship. Over the course of his career, whether with Philadelphia or in Washington, Zach Ertz has consistently demonstrated athleticism, intelligence, and leadership. As he continues his NFL career with the Commanders his continued excellence and adaptability are expected to play a crucial role.
