Two-Time NBA Champion Hits 30,000 Career Points
Just as Devin Booker made Phoenix Suns history last week, Kevin Durant made history against the Memphis Grizzlies with KD becoming the eighth player in NBA history to score 30,000 career points. Durant now sits behind Hall of Fame legends such as Wilt Chamberlain, Dirk Nowitzki, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone, Kareem Adbul-Jabbar, and LeBron James. He scored his 30,000 career point at the free throw line. With the Suns at 26-27 can the two-time NBA champion in Durant, Booker, and the rest of the Suns step up in the second half to move up within the Western Conference?
In 39 games played this season, the two-time NBA Champion has averaged about 27 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block within 36 minutes a game. In 17 seasons, Durant has played with four different teams. The Seattle Supersonics/Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Phoenix Suns. He’s a two-time NBA Champion and two-time Finals MVP with the Warriors, as well as being a 15-time all-star, a four-time scoring champion, six-time All-NBA First Team, five-time All-NBA Second Team, and the 2008 NBA Rookie of the Year. KD has proven to be one of the best scorers in NBA history and one of the best modern players the game has seen.
His season high this year is 43 points in a 133-125 loss to the Detroit Pistons. KD has scored 30 points or more 14 times this season. Even at 36 years old, Durant has shown that he’s ready for the NBA Hall of Fame when his career is all said and done. He’s certainly eyeing another NBA Championship before he moves on from the game. Will it be with the Suns? Or will the two-time NBA Champion sign with a more talented playoff powerhouse?
