Why These Top-Notch Receivers Need to Land on Your Fantasy Roster

NFL

There are plenty of options for choosing who your starting wide receiver should be Fantasy Football season. This year brings high expectations in this position. The first round of any NFL fantasy draft is crucial for pulling your top player for the upcoming season. Many fantasy managers don’t want to be the person to end up with a fantasy football punishment before the Super Bowl in their leagues. Here are a few thoughts for top choices in this year's draft: Malik Nabers, Ja’Marr Chase, or Garrett Wilson. Each one is set to be a star receiver this coming season after they had a breakout last year. Let’s dive in and take a look.

Malik Nabers

Nabers had a massive breakout season last year, coming in as a rookie out of LSU. In the 2023 season, he posted 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. He broke several records, with 109 receptions while he was targeted for 170, with 1,204 receiving yards, and seven overall touchdowns. That is huge for this rookie; he may have had injuries to deal with last season, but he knew what he was doing when he did get on the field. Nabers even begged the starting quarterback to give him the ball during the games. At times, this receiver was wide open and was ready to take the wheel at any moment. He finished the top of the season as a top receiver and had a huge fantasy football impact if he were drafted to any team. This year may be a better season for him, considering he has a veteran quarterback, Russell Wilson, to work with, and this young wide receiver has more experience than he did in the year before. Something that fantasy managers should think about before the drafting season begins. Nabers brings volume to the team and usage that not very many rookies can have, as many targets as he has had.

Garrett Wilson

Wilson’s stats are not too far behind Nabers. He established himself as a highly anticipated receiver in 2024. Wilson had 101 receptions and 154 targets, 1,104 receiving yards, and seven touchdowns last season. Wilson was a turbo player for the Jets and made explosive plays on the field when needed. He is also a deep threat to many who played against him. Last season, he played with veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers, with whom he led the Jets offense with 15 total receptions of 20+ yards, totaling 39 career explosive catches. This put him on top of the fantasy draft picks for the season. It may lead to something different for him without Rodgers being on the Jets this year. However, Wilson remains one of the best and has even shown during the Jets’ OTAs this year. It’s just a thought, and managers can confidently pick him up without having an issue as a first choice this year. Wilson delivers rock-solid floor and elite consistency to any offensive line.

Ja’marr Chase

Last but not least, Chase had a fantastic season in 2024. Not only did he have a fantastic year, but he also defined what it was like to be one of the greats. Chase had 127 receptions, 1,708 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns last season. He clinched the NFL receiving triple crown.  Chase also set a record of being the first player in NFL history to post 1700+ yards and 17 touchdowns in a single season. That defines his type of player and where he needs to land in fantasy football drafts. He has always been the guy that the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, Joe Burrow, has turned to. There is no question why this wide receiver should not be drafted to any roster this season. He should be a first-round pick in any fantasy football draft. Chase has always found a way to deliver volume and explosiveness. He has consistently found a way to work under fire and has dominated all scoring formats. All in all, Chase is fantasy royalty. If any manager drafts him, they need to start him, no questions.

Any of these wide receivers genuinely do decent work and can rack up the points on any fantasy roster. It’s a perfect way to look at what is needed compared to last season. Having any of these receivers on your roster would look good, and none of them have been fantasy sleepers in the past few years that they have played football. They all need to go in the first round, but if not, managers will miss out on some great players this coming season.
