Wolves Sever Ties Once More

Wolves have once again made a significant squad decision, parting ways with Mario Lemina. As the club continues to reshape its roster, this move marks an important shift in their plans. After two years at Molineux, the midfielder’s departure is one that Wolves will hope proves to be the right call. While his time at the club had its highs and lows, the impact of his exit remains to be seen.

Lemina’s exit sees him join Galatasaray on a permanent deal worth two and a half million pounds, bringing an end to his two-year spell at Wolves. His recent time at the club saw a downward spiral of inconsistent performances, disciplinary issues, and a poor relationship with fans. In his two years at Molineux, he made 52 appearances, contributing just five goals and four assists. Lemina was an underwhelming presence for a player once expected to be a key figure in the squad.

Following his departure, Lemina shared a farewell message that didn’t sit well with many Wolves supporters. He wrote on Instagram, “It’s time for me to say goodbye. I will never forget the incredible moments we shared, nor the passion and energy you, the supporters, brought to every match. Those moments of joy and challenge have helped me grow not only as a player, but also as a person. Thank you for everything. And don’t forget to stay ‘together as a pack’." However, his farewell message did little to win back supporters who had grown to dislike him. His decision to sit out a crucial match against Newcastle left the team high and dry, and Wolves went on to suffer an embarrassing 3-0 defeat. In a moment when unity and commitment were needed most, Lemina abandoned his pack, leaving fans frustrated and unforgiving.

Unsurprisingly, Wolves fans had plenty to say about Lemina’s departure. While some acknowledged his talent, the overwhelming consensus from fans was relief that the club had moved on from a player who had become more of a liability than an asset. His inconsistent performances, questionable attitude, and failure to step up when needed hindered his incredible ability and talent he possesses. In the end, his time at Molineux wasn’t perfect, but Lemina still had his moments of brilliance.
