76ers Star Reveals His Plans for the All-Star Break

NBA

The 2024-25 NBA season has been a massive blowout for the Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid. It’s not only him that is running out of patience, it's the 76ers team themselves that are also running out of patience. Out of a total of 54 games that this team has played so far this season, Embiid himself has only played in 17 of them. He has missed all of these games because of all the injuries that he has dealt with this season, or he has been ejected out of certain games due to his temperament. He is a crucial piece of what this team needs so that they can win games. It's been a struggle, and the only thing that is noted is when this all-star does get the chance to play, the 76ers pull through with a win.

In the 17 games that he has played, he has averaged 24.9 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He has been shooting decently, and when he does, it's 45.4 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from deep. Both his scoring arrearage and his efficiency have tanked. With Embiid not playing on the court, this has hurt Philadelphia all season long. He was supposed to be building chemistry with Paul George and Tyrese Maxey. However, George has been the only one who has been on the court for a majority of the season. Maxey has been in every now and then but not by much.

That being said, Embiid will not be going to the NBA All-Star Game this season. The all-star break is going to give him a lot of time to rest, and that is exactly what he is planning to do. It’s been one injury after another, and he needs time to allow his body to adjust itself. That said, while he recuperates, the 76ers will have 28 games left to play once they return from the break. They will need a healthy and motivated Embiid. If he does what he said and allows his body to heal itself, there should be no issues for him to return to the court for a final stretch of the season and earn his keep for the next season.
