Could the Reigning NBA MVP Add an All-Star MVP to His Resume?

NBA

Nikola Jokić, the reigning NBA MVP, has continued to amaze fans and analysts with his playmaking and dominance on the court. As we head into the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, there’s a lot of buzz about what he’ll do next. Jokić has been the heart of the Denver Nuggets, leading the team in almost every category, averaging 29.8 points per game, 12.6 rebounds, and 10.2 assists. His unique style, mixing vision and creativity with basketball IQ, has fans believing in the possibility of a possible NBA All-Star Game MVP.

Jokić’s playing style is often called one of the most unique in NBA history, and for good reason. His ability to play as a point center, make pinpoint passes, and run the offense really sets him apart from other big men. Jokić consistently leads the NBA in many aspects of advanced statistics. For example, he leads in player efficiency rating, with a 33.5, with fellow NBA regular season MVP candidate, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, of the OKC Thunder, being a far second, with a player efficiency rating of 31.

The Denver Nuggets have been on fire this season, with a 36-19 record, and a lot of that comes down to Nikola Jokić's continued dominance. His playmaking and court vision have been next-level, and he's been making passes that leave defenders scratching their heads. Adding Russell Westbrook to the starting lineup has only made them more dangerous. Westbrook’s energy and aggressive playstyle mesh perfectly with Jokić’s more methodical approach, creating a nice balance that has made the Nuggets' offense even more lethal this year.

As the season goes on, Jokić keeps building great chemistry with his teammates, improving everyone around him. His unselfish style of play helps guys like Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. thrive, thanks to Jokić’s incredible passing ability. The Nuggets' offense is clicking on all cylinders, with Jokić at the center of it all, constantly setting up plays and putting his teammates in the best positions to succeed. His standout performance this season even earned him a spot in the all-star game, where he showed just why he’s considered one of the best playmakers in the league. Overall, as one of the top passers in the league, Jokić is bound to dish out some memorable assists and set up plenty of highlights throughout the game. His ability to pass, paired with his scoring skills, makes him a serious dual threat on the court. Who knows what’s in store for Jokić next?
