Top Three Free Agents Who Could Shake Up WWE’s Roster

WWE

With the recent headlines featuring Jordynne Grace and Ricky Starks joining NXT, wrestling fans and analysts are wondering about which superstars might follow suit. The landscape of professional wrestling is always changing, and many stars have been released or had their contracts expire in the last couple of months of 2025. Among them, Aleister Black stands out as a potential candidate for a WWE return. After his release in 2021, Black, known as Malakai Black in AEW, had a promising start but soon found himself sidelined. Recently released from his AEW contract, he has no non-compete clause, opening the door for the former NXT Champion to make a comeback to WWE.

Another name on the radar is Miro, formerly known as Rusev. The former three-time WWE U.S. Champion was released in 2020 in a very unsuccessful fashion. Afterwards, he made a transition to AEW, even capturing the TNT Championship. However, after losing the title, he seemed to fade from the spotlight. Now that he has been released alongside Black and the newly debuted Ricky Starks, fans are eager to see if he will return to WWE as either The Redeemer or bring back Rusev Day.

Josh Alexander is also generating buzz among fans, especially given his impressive achievements in TNA. As a two-time TNA World Champion and the longest reigning champion in history, Alexander has proven himself as a top-tier talent. While reports suggest he may be heading to AEW, many fans believe his talents would shine brighter in WWE. Matches with wrestlers like Chad Gable could lead to some unforgettable matches and elevate both stars' careers. He already has connections in WWE with his former TNA Tag Champion partner, Ethan Page, who is currently in NXT. He could probably persuade Alexander to join the WWE instead.
